Happy Birthday To You! Finally!

Remeber when I told y’all before Christmas that I would be adding the new Happy Birthday To You cards to my Etsy shop?! Well, that didn’t happen until this past weekend… But they ARE in there now! Finally!

To make a long story short, my computer is really old and doesn’t really function properly anymore… So adding a new listing had to be done from a remote site… But it’s done now! Yay! (And for what it’s worth, I’m saving up for a new computer. Woo hoo!)

I’m really excited about these cards. The designs on the front and on the inside are original, Laurel-drawn designs! I had my drawings made into stamps, so each card is hand stamped then finished with some hand painted detail! The HBTY on the front means Happy Birthday To You in a fun modern way. But if the card recipient is confused, all they have to do is open it up for the translation! 🙂

Pink Pucker Confetti

I have a new listing on Etsy!!

It’s called PINK PUCKER, and it’s lip confetti!

A sweet friend asked me last week if I could make some lip confetti to go along with some moustache confetti, and I was totally up for the challenge! She wanted to use it for her gender reveal party, which I thought was the CUTEST idea!! Sarah Pope, you get all the credit for me actually taking action in getting this design produced! 🙂

I saw pictures of Sarah’s party, and it looked GREAT! What a creative mama-to-be she is!

Take a trip to my etsy store if you haven’t in a while for more confetti, plus cards of course!! Although there isn’t just a TON of stuff in there, I’m always working on more! As is the story of my life, things just don’t happen as quickly as I’d like for them to! Hah!!

The Bee’s Knees {Cards}

I have a new listing up on etsy that I’m suuuuper excited about!!

This newest intro into the design file for The Lovely Bee is called The Bee’s Knees!

With the name of my business being The Lovely Bee and all, I knew it was only a matter of time before I ended up with a bee design, but coming up with a bee design that is recognizable by silouette only is a little bit easier said than done!

After some doodling and playing around (those of you who follow me on Instagram or Facebook may remember the day I posted this drawing), I landed on this design as my very first bee.

I have another one in the works, but it’s not where I want it to be yet, so it’ll be on it’s way later! 🙂

Anyway, back to the new listing!

The bee is carefully cut from a really beautiful and delicate gold paper then applied to a creamy card base. I loved the acidic green envelopes with these, so that’s what I went with on this first round.

As always, I can do the bee, the card, or the envelopes differently if you’re looking for another look! The beauty of handmade things is that they can be customized 🙂

If you’re a bee lover like I am, then this is the perfect way to make a statement when doing correspondence! It also makes a fabulous gift! 🙂

Birdie Confetti = Spring Party Time!

Earlier this week I got a really fun order for some hostess gifts from a dear, sweet friend who is getting married at the end of the summer! She wanted several sets of birdie cards to give to those throwing her showers and parties, so as I was working on her project, all I could think about were birds and parties, which in my mind equal spring! (My math is right, isn’t it? Birds + Parties = Spring? Yeah, pretty sure I added that up correctly! :))

So, what better way to spruce up a spring party than with birdie confetti?! With my awesome new cutter, I was able to make some confetti fairly easily! It took a while, but the result was well worth the time put into it! And it is now for sale on the etsy store! YAY!

I am SOOO in the mood for spring parties that my next guest post on Coffee Rings & Southern Things is going to be all about spring partyin’! Navy + Coral Love

NAVY + CORAL

I can’t seem to get enough of this color combination these days! There something about coral that just makes me melt (as you might remember from another favorite color combo I wrote about recently!)

I’ve noticed navy and coral a lot more lately and it’s always so pretty. It actually inspired the Shell + Ink colorway I’ve used on several cards, like this one, for sale in my etsy shop!

Not only is it smashing on paper, but in fabric, clothing, and interiors. Here are several uses of the color combination that I’m absolutely crazy over!

And this tiny print from Schumacher completely steals my heart!

Although not technically coral, this navy and orangey red interior from Rue Magazine is so incredible I just had to share it… Amazing, right?!

This little cutie was found over at Deliciously Organized, one of my new favorite blogs to check in on. Isn’t this combination the bomb?!

These bangles of mine are so easy to throw on with just about any outfit. I particularly love the navy one with the bee! It was a gift from my wonderful mother-in-law!

Merry + Bright

As crazy as it may seem, the holidays are not far away! That means… It’s time to start thinking about gifts and Christmas cards!

My new favorite Christmas color combo! Unexpected, untraditional, but totally gorgeous and festive!

I just added a Christmas card to my etsy shop, which you are welcome to take a peek at! It’s available in sets and [soon to be] by the individual card. I’m so excited that Christmas is just around the corner, and I’m very excited about this card!

I love the color scheme. Acid green + coraly pink + gold = SO beautiful! I actually think that may be the color family I try to stick to this year when decorating my house!

Thimblepress Love

Friends! If you haven’t had the time to get familiar with Thimblepress, that time has come! Thimblepress is run by my dear friend Kristen Ley and this girl is some kind of talented!! I have some of her Small World prints in my workspace (which I hope to show you sometime soon, once it’s in better condition!) and I absolutely LOVE them! She’s also got bunches of scarves, coasters, notepads, tote bags, and the list goes on and on!

I had the huge honor of getting to model a couple of her beautiful wares. Check them out!

This tote bag from Thimblepress is THE BOMB. I use mine almost daily!

These circle scarves are softer than butter! I can’t remember ever wearing a softer scarf! I particularly love the gray one with the white design 🙂

The more traditional Thimblepress scarves are so lightweight and have such FABULOUS designs! They can be worn in a million different ways. They’re even light enough to wear atop the hair (as shown in the picture with Willow, the must stunning puppy model of all time!)
