Spring Fashion With Arco Avenue ( Part 4 ) OFF DUTY

It’s Friday! Woo hoo! The weekend is HERE!

I am just a little sad that today is our last post in the four-part spring fashion series with Arco Avenue, though! This has been so much fun for me. I’m going to miss editing pictures of my beautiful friend Elish wearing my beautiful sister-in-law’s store’s shoes and accessories! But I have a feeling this won’t be the last Arco collaboration… So that’s a good thing! 🙂

Today’s look was saved for last because it happens to be the favorite of all three of us! Katie, Elish, and I all commented separately that this might be the favorite of the four looks, so I thought I’d save it as the icing on this sweet series!

Enough of my babble… Let’s get to it, ok?! 🙂

OFF DUTY

Spring Fashion with Arco Avenue, Part 4: Off Duty // THE HIVE

Elish on this look:

“I have two great loves (ok several) in my life: reading and coffee. Although coffee is a daily necessity, my downtime usually involves a good book. This Gigi New York tote is perfect for the girl who has her life in her handbag, as well as room for a few extras. Jane Austen, anyone?

Boyfriend jeans and a sweater with feminine details are the quintessential lounge wear disguised as street clothes. Add a beanie and shades to fly under the radar and these fabulous sandals to get you from point A to point B in style.”

Katie on this look:

“This look gives off all the right vibes — cool, casual, comfortable, and high fashion.

Spring Fashion with Arco Avenue, Part 4: Off Duty // THE HIVE

I die over these sandals! I mean, I can’t even… The chunky block heel is the perfect addition to boyfriend jeans, shorts, or hi-lo dresses. And who doesn’t need a fabulous, carry-all tote? This one by Gigi New York is a winner every time. You can even get yours personalized.

The geode necklace is just the right accessory for this look. With the beanie, not too much more needs to be happening. A simple stud earring and this all natural, earthy necklace is just the answer.”

Beanie: Anthropologie (Elish’s own)

Denim: Banana Republic (Elish’s own)
Sandals: Coclico at Arco Avenue

And that’s a wrap!

That's a wrap!

Spring Fashion With Arco Avenue ( Part 3 ) BEACH BUM

Today we continue the Spring fashion series with Arco Avenue!

We look we started out with was a Coachella-esque look, followed yesterday by a slightly more professional day-to-night look.

Today we’re back to casual with this easy, effortless, yet super chic beachy look! Is that top not to die for?!

BEACH BUM

Spring Fashion with Arco Avenue, Part 3: Beach Bum // THE HIVE

Elish on this look:

“Hangout is right around the corner, along with tons of other summer concerts. Something like this would be great for events like that!

Spring Fashion with Arco Avenue, Part 3: Beach Bum // THE HIVE

Brightly Twisted is a line that is ideal for a casual look that packs a punch. The material is light and soft and the loose cut is the perfect throw on with shorts, layered with a tank, or over your bikini. If you can’t make it to a concert on the beach or a vacation on the water, this top is a little taste of that right here in Mississippi!”

Spring Fashion with Arco Avenue, Part 3: Beach Bum // THE HIVE

Katie on this look:

“This look is casual and comfy, but cute and put together. White shorts are the perfect addition to brighten up any spring/summer outfit and that crossbody purse picks up the colors in her top perfectly and provides easy access when you’re on the go!

Spring Fashion with Arco Avenue, Part 3: Beach Bum // THE HIVE

The breezy, long sleeve lightweight top leaves you cool but offers protection from the sun while still looking ‘in season.'”

Spring Fashion With Arco Avenue ( Part 2 ) AFTER HOURS

Welcome back! 🙂

Yesterday I posted the first in this fun little four-part Arco Avenue Spring fashion series, which was an awesome music festival-inspired look! (See that full post here!)  I’m super excited to share the second look with you today, which is much different, yet equally as gorgeous! Be sure to read all the way to the end so you can see how shopping this look can help some people in need right now!

I’ll let Katie and Elish fill y’all in on the details of this lovely little ensemble, which could not transition more perfectly from a day at work to an evening out with friends!

AFTER HOURS

Spring Fashion with Arco Avenue, Part 2: After Hours // THE HIVEElish on this look:

“How many times have you seen tips on styling pieces to function at your 9 to 5 then transition effortlessly to after hours cocktails? Here. You. Go.

Spring Fashion with Arco Avenue, Part 2: After Hours // THE HIVE

If fashion is about the piece, style is about the details. This basic linen dress in a classic cut gets a leg up with beading at the neckline.

Spring Fashion with Arco Avenue, Part 2: After Hours // THE HIVE

It’s often said accessories are a girls best friend and I’m steadily proving it true. This knockout leather Gigi New York clutch has a bit of added glam in the gold plate and tassel. The wedges, in a word, are “todiefor” and the perfect pairing for the clutch. Day to night in 3 pieces.”

Spring Fashion with Arco Avenue, Part 2: After Hours // THE HIVE

Katie on this look:

“Dress to impress, right? This mix of shoes and accessories will NEVER be a wrong choice, no matter what you’re wearing.

Spring Fashion with Arco Avenue, Part 2: After Hours // THE HIVE

Where some clutches don’t offer quite enough room, the Gigi uber clutch is the perfect size for the essentials.

Spring Fashion with Arco Avenue, Part 2: After Hours // THE HIVE

With a dress with detail at the neck, only a simple (but stunning) stud is required. Don’t go overboard on the jewelry.

Spring Fashion with Arco Avenue, Part 2: After Hours // THE HIVE

And these boots are FAB-U-LOUS. Wear them any time of year with everything from dresses and skirts to dress pants and jeans. I’m in love with the unique cut outs, and the color goes with everything in your closet!”

Spring Fashion with Arco Avenue, Part 2: After Hours // THE HIVE

Dress: Victoria’s Secret (Elish’s own)
Shoes: Coclico Jory Booties at Arco Avenue
Uber Clutch: Gigi New York  at Arco Avenue
Earrings: Heather Hawkins Geode Studs at Arco Avenue

While you’re dreaming of adding the items you see in this series to your closet, keep in mind that Arco Avenue is donating 100% of their sales this week (Yes, ONE HUNDRED PERCENT) to tornado relief in Louisville, MS, which is Katie’s hometown. The tornado claimed several lives and there is mass property damage is this precious little town. Please keep the people of Louisville (and the other areas that were affected by the storms) in your prayers. And, of course, keep in mind that if you shop at Arco this week (4/29 – 5/3), in their brick and mortar store or online, you’ll really be able to make an impact on those who are experiencing loss, all while amping up your wardrobe! (Win + win!)

Stay tuned for Part 3 of this fashion fest tomorrow!

Spring Fashion With Arco Avenue ( Part 1 ) SECOND SKIN: TAKE ME HOME

Happy Tuesday, people!

Since yesterday was so nasty, I hope today’s pretty post will brighten your day a little bit! 🙂

Today is PART ONE of a four part Spring fashion collaboration with Arco Avenue! I’m really excited about all four of these posts… All looks (styled by Elish and Katie) are completely different, so it was really fun to get to shoot all of these back to back! It made for a super fun evening!

Let’s get onto the first look, which is festival-inspired! (Oh, how I love a good music festival!)

SECOND SKIN : TAKE ME HOME

Spring Fashion with Arco Avenue, Part 1: Festival Inspired // THE HIVE

Elish on this look:

“Next to shorts and a T-shirt, this is the type of clothing I feel most at home in. Maybe because it IS glorified shorts and T-shirt. I still have a little bit of my country girl roots, so any outfit that I can walk, stay cool, and, you know, climb a tree in is guaranteed to be what I am going to gravitate towards.

Spring Fashion with Arco Avenue, Part 1: Festival Inspired // THE HIVE

Even the clover patch is a reminder of home. Paired with deceptively comfortable boots and a cinched backback, I’m set. Take me home.”

Spring Fashion with Arco Avenue, Part 1: Festival Inspired // THE HIVE

Katie on this look:

“The back pack purse is right on trend this season, and thank goodness, with all these music festivals coming up!
Spring Fashion with Arco Avenue, Part 1: Festival Inspired // THE HIVE
And a white mani is the color trend this summer. There’s no better or easier way to add a pop to your outfit! Stacking rings are a trendy addition as well. Layer them up. Knuckle rings too. We can all get along here!”

Fashinspiration: Welcome Spring!

Happy Monday! How was the weekend?
Minus feeling a little under the weather Sunday afternoon, mine was great and I got a lot done! 🙂

The pretty weather today calls for a little spring fashinspiration, don’t ya think?!

Welcome Spring! // Fashinspiration // The Lovely Bee

Elish says….

I was really happy just enjoying the spring weather this past week! I thought I’d welcome the cool weather with pops of gold and royal blue.

Welcome Spring! // Fashinspiration // The Lovely Bee

I do have to say that even as a proud MSU grad, this dress debuted years ago as my LSU game day attire! I’m switching it up and making it Mississippi appropriate this season.

Hope all of your are taking advantage of this sunny weather like I am! Windows down weather at its best.

Dress: Forever 21
Blazer: Vintage (I had it tailored)
Sunglasses: Raybans
Shoes: N.Y.L.A.

Thanks Elish! Blue and yellow are two of my absolute faves, so this ensemble really speaks to me! So happy it’s time for springy colors and a little more skin showing!

Fashinsipration Collaboration with Blithe and Vine, Part 3

Today, I give you the third and final installment of our three part fashion collaboration with Blithe and Vine!

In case you missed part one or part two, be sure to check them out! 🙂

Blithe & Vine + The Lovely Bee Collaboration

Part three is entitled Spring Fling. And with Coachella happening this weekend, the timing to debut this look couldn’t be more perfect!!! It’s so festival chic!!

PLUS, this is my favorite of the three looks for multiple reasons! So… Let’s get to it!

Spring Fling Festival Fashion// Blithe and Vine + The Lovely Bee

Elish on this look:

I have been secretly wanting to give the head wrap trend a go… because it definitely has been lingering summer after summer for several seasons now! It’s another great use for a light scarf, not to mention the best accessory for a bad hair day!

Spring Fling Festival Fashion// Blithe and Vine + The Lovely Bee

Spring Fling Festival Fashion// Blithe and Vine + The Lovely Bee

I got away using this top as a dress and added a killer beaded necklace for some interest. This look was so fun…I was ready to buy tickets to a music festival just to put it to good use. Oh and I swoon for this keyhole Kelly Wearstler Ring I’m sporting!

Spring Fling Festival Fashion// Blithe and Vine + The Lovely Bee

Liz on this look:

I loved styling this look with Elish! She looks like a chic hippie chick. Look out Coachella, here she comes!!!
Festival Fashion/ Spring Fling // Blithe and Vine + The Lovely Bee
But the great part is, each piece could be paired with different items in your closet for a completely unique look. Add the scarf & boots to basic white jeans & a tee and you’re looking fabulous for a casual day at the office, or Saturday lunch with the girls. And any piece of Kelly Wearstler jewelry adds instant edge to your look!

I had so much fun doing this shoot with Elish & Laurel, two gorgeous, smart & stylish women. Thanks ladies, and remember… #lifeisshortdresscute!!!

Have a WONDERFUL WEEKEND! And if you’re lucky enough to be at Coachella this weekend… I may or may not be really jealous of you… 😉

XO!

Fashinspiration Collaboration with Blithe and Vine, Part 2

Happy Tuesday, folks!

Today, I bring you Part 2 of the three-part style collaboration with Blithe and Vine!

Blithe & Vine + The Lovely Bee Collaboration

In case you missed Part 1 last week, be sure to check that out before you go any further! 🙂

NOW, let’s talk about NAVY + WHITE!

NAVY + WHITE // The Lovely Bee

Elish on this look:

Thanks to owner Liz Spratlin’s expertly curated boutique, there were some fabulous pieces to choose from for this look! I paired some silky, navy shorts with an airy jacket and gorgeous leather booties.
Style Collaboration with Blithe and Vine // The Lovely Bee
Navy + White is fail proof for spring, and subtle but killer details on every piece do the work for you. From the gold details on the pockets of this top, to the sheer back panel, to the intricate leather straps on the bag, every piece speaks for itself… And isn’t that the ultimate payback for investing in these wardrobe staples?
Style Collaboration with Blithe and Vine // The Lovely Bee

Liz on this look:

I always say that details make the difference in your wardrobe and this look proves that. Love the two-tone boots, but the jacket in particular: sheer back, gold detail on the front flap pockets, arrow stitching at the cuff… This one piece packs a lot of punch. And the handmade leather bag isn’t bad either!

White jacket: Kai Aackman
Booties: Humanoid
Bag: All Hands

Thanks, Liz and Elish, for putting your awesome fashion skills to work! I love, love, love this look!!! Be sure to stay tuned as we bring you PART 3 of this fabulous series! I’ve saved my favorite look for last so… GET EXCITED!

Fashinspiration: Puppy Love

Today’s Fashinspiration with Elish is a real treat! It might be my favorite one we’ve done yet, not only because of how amazeballs Elish looks, but because of the adorable prop we had! Meet the cutest pit bull puppy ever, Menace. More on her shortly!

Fashinspiration | { THE HIVE }

As Elish and I were taking pictures, a guy came walking over with his adorable little sidekick! Isn’t she a doll?!

Fashinspiration | { THE HIVE }

About this look, via Elish:
These crazy weather changes have had me scrambling! Accommodating the fluctuating temperatures resulted in a pretty eclectic mix. I chose a sleeveless top and skirt because work can entail anything from loading my car with accessories to bringing massive bolts of fabric to the workroom.

Fashinspiration | { THE HIVE }

Fashinspiration | { THE HIVE }
I added a pair of boots and a sweater to make this look relevant to the winter season. During this shoot, Laurel and I happened to make a friend that we “borrowed” for a minute! This sweet puppy’s name was “Menace” because she gets in to everything. Definitely the bright spot of the afternoon!

Enjoy!

Fashinspiration: Singing In The Rain + Barcelona’s Fairy Bar!

With the torrential downpour we had earlier today, I was inspired to finally get this post up that Elish and I shot over a month ago during a rainy spell! (Better late than never, right?!) Her “rainy day fashion” is super adorable! Allow her to explain…

Fashinspiration | The Lovely Bee

The other day, I popped on over to Arco Avenue to take a peek at the newest Dolce Vita and to lust over the Butter London polishes… And to visit my friend Laurel of course! 🙂 We took a break to snap a pew pics for the blog… and tried to make the best of the rainy weather. I just piled on several layers to handle however the weather changed that day. You just never know in Mississippi! I also realized another exciting thing… this is a total bargain look!

Fashinspiration | The Lovely Bee

Fashinspiration | The Lovely Bee

Earrings: Target
Dress: Target (*Hidden Layering Jewel!)
Vest: Miley Cyrus & Max Azria for Target (I know…seriously. I own Miley Cyrus clothing. No shame.)
Infinity Scarf: ASOS
Jacket: Forever 21
Boots: Payless

Fashinspiration | The Lovely Bee

Thanks Elish!! LOVE the layering!

So, while Elish is on the Miley Cyrus confession kick… I own Miley Cyrus clothing too… Two pieces, actually… And I love them! Here are my Miley Cyrus shorts– I wore them out in Barcelona when my husband Price, my brother-in-law Jesse, and I all tried to dress really “euro” and experience night life like the locals. (Disclaimer: Price and Jesse would NEVER dress like this in America… These outfits were for one night and one night only. Price is wearing capris, which cannot be seen…)

We had so much fun, and I think my fun was in large part due to my hot pink Miley shorts! 🙂

"Euro Night" | The Lovely Bee

While we’re on the topic– If you ever go to Barcelona, be sure to visit “The Fairy Bar!” where this photo was taken!! It’s formal name is Bosc de las Fedes Cafe and it is nuts! My go-to travel expert/bestie Avery told us about it! It’s like you’re in a creepy version of a fairy tale movie in there… Big trees with faces on the trunks… little streams with fairies along the banks… mirrors with crazy fairy tale characters behind them… Seriously, it’s really cool but pretty nutso! We loved it!!

The Fairy Bar in Barcelona | The Lovely Bee

I think I’ve segwayed enough for today! Haha! Hope you enjoyed the random travel tip + fashion segment! 🙂 Have a wonderful week!
